LAS VEGAS – In a hard-fought Pro League contest that saw momentum swing multiple times, the Las Vegas Aces ultimately outlasted the Boston Breakers 107-101 at the sold-out Desert Dome. Elias Bergstrom led the charge for the Aces with a dominant 20-point, 8-rebound performance, while Elena Sokolova’s impressive 24-point double-double for the Breakers kept Boston within striking distance throughout.
The game was a back-and-forth affair from the opening tip. The Breakers, led by a sharp-shooting Elena Sokolova, found an early rhythm, hitting timely threes and attacking the paint. However, the Aces’ balanced scoring attack and tenacious rebounding kept them in the hunt. Sasha Volkov’s crucial field goal midway through the second quarter helped ignite a short run for Vegas.
The third quarter saw the Aces truly assert themselves. Elias Bergstrom became a force in the post, scoring at will and grabbing key offensive rebounds that led to second-chance points. Isla Novikova added a spark with 12 points and timely steals, disrupting the Breakers’ flow. “We knew it was going to be a tough game,” said Aces Head Coach Anya Sharma. “Boston is a great team, and they pushed us to our limit. I’m proud of how our guys responded.”
Boston refused to fold, with Nala Diallo contributing 19 points and 8 rebounds, and Sofia Lindgren orchestrating the offense with 5 assists. However, despite several spirited runs, including a late surge fueled by Julian Vance’s attacking play, the Breakers couldn’t overcome the Aces’ consistent scoring and strong rebounding effort. “We gave it our all, but sometimes the bounce of the ball just doesn’t go your way,” commented Breakers guard Julian Vance.
Elias Bergstrom, instrumental in securing the win, added, “It feels great to get this win. We stayed together, trusted each other, and executed when it mattered most.”
