PHOENIX – The Boston Breakers delivered a resounding statement on the road, overwhelming the Phoenix Scorchers with a dominant offensive performance to secure a 120-84 victory. The Breakers controlled the tempo from the opening tip, fueled by an explosive shooting display and exceptional ball movement that left the Scorchers struggling to find answers. This decisive win signals Boston’s intent in the Pro League standings.
The tone was set early as Boston established a significant lead in the first quarter, showcasing their offensive firepower. Nala Diallo was instrumental, orchestrating the Breakers’ attack and providing a scoring punch. She knocked down a crucial three-pointer midway through the second quarter, igniting an 8-0 run that stretched their advantage to double digits. Phoenix attempted to rally, with Elena Garcia and Julian Popescu contributing to keep them within striking distance, but Boston’s relentless pressure and efficient scoring proved too much.
Second-half possessions saw the Breakers continue to pour it on. Julian Vance added a smooth 15 points and 5 assists, while Seraphina Diallo chipped in 13 points of her own. Boston’s ability to consistently hit from beyond the arc, sinking 19 three-pointers on 42.2% shooting, was a major factor. Phoenix, in contrast, endured a tough shooting night, connecting on just 31.6% of their field goals.
“We came out with focus and executed our game plan,” said Breakers head coach Evelyn Reed. “Our team chemistry was evident tonight, and we shared the ball beautifully. This is the kind of performance we strive for.”
For the Scorchers, the night will be one to quickly forget. “It was a tough one,” admitted Scorchers guard Anya Sharma. “We didn’t hit our shots, and they capitalized on every mistake. We have to learn from this and get back to work.”
