LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Vipers overcame a spirited effort from the Rome Centurions, pulling away in the fourth quarter for a commanding 103-91 victory in Pro League action. After a tightly contested first three quarters, the Vipers’ offense ignited, fueled by a stellar performance from Daniel Rojas, to secure the crucial home win.
The game remained in the balance for much of the contest. Rome’s Maya Dubois kept the Centurions afloat with timely buckets, including a pair of three-pointers that helped her finish with 16 points. Elian Foster also provided a spark off the bench for Rome, contributing 14 points and four assists, including a crucial triple that kept the home crowd on their feet.
However, the Vipers found another gear in the final period. Daniel Rojas was the catalyst, pouring in a game-high 25 points, six rebounds, and four assists. His aggressive drives and clutch shooting proved too much for the Centurions’ defense. Kenzo Okada added 15 points, including a vital three-pointer that helped build momentum for Los Angeles.
“We knew Rome would come out fighting, and they played a tough game,” said Vipers Head Coach Isabella Rossi after the win. “But our guys really locked in down the stretch. Daniel was exceptional, and the collective effort on both ends was what sealed it for us.”
Rome Centurions’ Head Coach, Viktor Petrov, acknowledged the Vipers’ late surge. “We battled hard, and our rebounding was a positive tonight, but we couldn’t sustain our offensive rhythm in the fourth. Credit to Los Angeles, they made the big shots when it mattered most.”
The Vipers’ ball movement was a key factor, with the team tallying 25 assists against only 9 turnovers, showcasing strong offensive cohesion. For Rome, despite the loss, their 93.3% free throw shooting was a bright spot.
