Johnson Explodes for 35, Scorchers Cruise Past Mavericks 110-85

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Scorchers put on a dominant offensive display, fueled by a career-high 35 points from Adam Johnson, to hand the Miami Mavericks a decisive 110-85 defeat. The Scorchers controlled the tempo from the opening tip, showcasing crisp ball movement and timely shooting to extend their winning streak.

The Scorchers established their authority early, with Johnson leading the charge. His ability to consistently find the bottom of the net, including a crucial three-pointer in the second quarter, ignited the Phoenix offense. The Mavericks struggled to find their rhythm, hampered by a cold shooting night from beyond the arc, hitting just 9 of 44 attempts.

Phoenix’s supporting cast also delivered. Elena Garcia added 10 points and 8 rebounds, while Lila Petersen nearly recorded a double-double with 10 points and 9 boards. The Scorchers’ collective effort on the glass, outrebounding Miami 55-51, provided crucial second-chance opportunities.
