DELTA – The Delta Destroyers delivered a commanding performance against the West Vancouver Wolves, shutting them out 3-0 in front of their home crowd on Thursday night. The Destroyers turned the tide early and maintained relentless pressure throughout, marked by three impressive wrist shot goals that sealed the Wolves’ fate. With this victory, the Destroyers solidify their momentum in the season and demonstrate why they are a force to be reckoned with.
The first breakthrough came midway through the game when Sanaa El Saafi opened the scoring with a sharp wrist shot assisted by Carlos Fernandez. The crowd erupted as Saafi buried the puck past Wolves’ goalie Haruto Saito, who despite his efforts, allowed three goals on 32 shots. Delta’s dominant offensive display was highlighted by Zara Amiri, who showed relentless fire on the ice with 15 shots and key assists.
The second goal was struck by Soraya El Amrani, who capitalized on a pass from Amiri, delivering a wrist shot that found the back of the net. This goal further demoralized the Wolves, who struggled with turnovers, tallying 39 compared to Delta’s 25.
