Centurions Unleash Offensive Barrage to Crush Orcas 126-89
Delgado Dazzles with Dimes as Rome Dominates Vancouver
ROME – The Rome Centurions asserted their dominance on their home court Saturday, overwhelming the Vancouver Orcas with a relentless offensive attack to secure a commanding 126-89 victory in February 2026 Season action. A spectacular display of ball movement and sharp shooting saw the Centurions pull away early and never look back, extending their winning streak.
The Orcas struggled to find their rhythm from the opening tip, plagued by poor shooting and an inability to contain Rome’s dynamic offense. The Centurions, meanwhile, were firing on all cylinders. Point guard Mateo Delgado orchestrated the attack with masterful precision, dishing out a game-high 14 assists, many of which led to easy baskets or open three-pointers.
Anton Pavlov ignited the scoring early and often for Rome, pouring in a game-high 19 points, including three crucial three-pointers that stretched the lead. Jaxon Dubois added 16 points, showcasing his scoring versatility, while Mikhail Ivanov and Maya Dubois chipped in with 12 and 13 points respectively. The Centurions’ balanced scoring attack proved too much for Vancouver to handle.
“We focused on moving the ball and trusting each other tonight,” said Centurions Head Coach Isabella Rossi. “Mateo’s vision out there was exceptional, and when we share the ball like that, we’re a tough out. We wanted to make a statement, and I think we did that.”
Despite a valiant effort from Lena Petrov, who led the Orcas with 12 points and added two steals, Vancouver couldn’t match Rome’s offensive firepower. The Centurions’ suffocating defense also contributed, forcing timely turnovers and limiting second-chance opportunities for the Orcas.
“It was a tough night. They just came out and executed their game plan perfectly,” lamented Orcas captain Griffin Price. “We have to learn from this and come back stronger.”
