Bears Maul Lions in London: Lindgren Leads Charge with 26 Points
Berlin Roars Past London Behind Lindgren's Stellar Scoring
LONDON – The Berlin Bears delivered a dominant performance on the road, overpowering the London Lions with a resounding 113-85 victory in their February 2026 Season matchup. The Bears’ offensive firepower, particularly from beyond the arc, proved too much for the Lions to handle, marking a significant win in the early season standings.
The game started with a deliberate pace, but the Bears quickly found their rhythm. Quentin Ford opened the scoring for Berlin, answered by a timely steal and fast break from London’s Freya Lund. However, Anya Lindgren began to assert her dominance midway through the first quarter. Her sharpshooting prowess was on full display, knocking down key baskets, including a series of crucial three-pointers that began to stretch the Lions’ defense.
By halftime, the Bears had built a comfortable lead, and they continued to apply pressure in the second half. The Lions struggled to contain Berlin’s dynamic offense, with Lindgren orchestrating much of the damage. She finished with a game-high 26 points, complemented by an impressive 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Zoe Sharma also made a significant impact for the Bears, controlling the paint with 13 points and a game-high 9 rebounds.
“We came out with a lot of energy and executed our game plan,” said Lindgren after the game. “It was a collective effort, but we knew we had to set the tone early.”
For the Lions, Freya Lund and Chloe Beaumont were offensive bright spots, each contributing 12 and 13 points respectively, with Lund adding 5 assists and 2 steals. Cassia Aoki also provided a spark off the bench with 11 points and 3 assists. Despite their efforts, the Lions couldn’t find consistent scoring to match the Bears’ offensive output.
“We made too many mistakes and gave up too many easy baskets,” lamented Lions Head Coach, David Miller. “We’ll learn from this and come back stronger.”
