Dixon Fuels Mavericks' Late Surge for 105-102 Road Win in Montreal!
Dixon's Steals Spark Mavericks' Comeback Victory Over Monarchs

MONTREAL – The Miami Mavericks completed a thrilling comeback on the road, snatching a 105-102 victory from the Montreal Monarchs on a night where defensive intensity and clutch shooting ultimately decided the Pro League contest. Elara Dixon’s critical late-game steals and a balanced scoring attack propelled the Mavericks past a Monarchs squad that held a significant lead for much of the second half.
The Monarchs controlled the tempo for the majority of the game, building a double-digit lead thanks to strong performances from Samuel Kim and Mia Jenkins in the paint. Kim poured in 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, while Jenkins was a force on the glass with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Darya Petrenko added 13 points and a game-high 6 assists, orchestrating the Monarchs’ offense effectively.
However, the momentum began to shift in the fourth quarter, largely due to the disruptive play of Elara Dixon. Dixon recorded a game-high 6 steals, two of which came in crucial late-game situations, leading to fast-break opportunities for Miami. Her defensive prowess fueled a Mavericks offense that found its rhythm from beyond the arc, hitting 17 three-pointers.
Dixon finished as the game’s leading scorer with 24 points, adding 3 assists. “We knew we had to dig deep,” Dixon commented post-game. “Montreal played a great game, but we stayed aggressive on defense, and that’s what sparked our comeback.”
Kai Blackwood contributed with 7 points, 5 assists, and 2 blocks, while Clara Mendez anchored the Mavericks’ frontcourt with 10 points and 11 rebounds. For Montreal, Samuel Kim’s 3 blocks were instrumental, but ultimately the Mavericks’ late-game execution proved too much.
“It’s a tough pill to swallow,” said Monarchs Head Coach Evelyn Reid. “We played well for 35 minutes, but we can’t afford those lapses in concentration at the end. We’ll learn from this.”
